Geronimo married her soon after Alope’s death, and she remained married to him for 30 years until her capture by Mexicans in 1882. Geronimo’s son, Chappo, was born to her in 1867, and his daughter Dohn-say (also called Tozey or Lulu), was born in 1871. He also married a third wife, Nana-tha-thtith, during this time, as was customary for a good provider and successful raider. Apache men were allowed to marry as many women as they could support, and through the years Geronimo added and discarded wives as circumstances dictated, leaving historians with an incomplete record of his domestic life.
